When We Are Closed

When We Are Closed

When the practice is closed, call the following numbers to obtain help:

  • Between 17:30 and 18:30 and 08:00 and 08:45 phone 0121 687 3052 for the GP out of hours service which is based at the UMP and is for emergencies only.
  • Between 18:30 to 08:00 telephone 111 to contact the universal NHS emergency out-of-hours service.
  • We have extended access appointments available from 18:00 to 20:00 and sometimes during lunchtime. These are booked by calling reception. For more information follow this link.
  • If you need to see a doctor or nurse outside of practice opening times, then you will be directed to the South Birmingham GP Walk-In Centre, 15 Katie Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham, B29 6JG. This is a walk-in centre and you do not need to be registered to attend. They can be reached on 0121 415 2095.
  • Accident & Emergency - available at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital - children need to attend Birmingham Children's Hospital.
  • Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
